Hi,

I am using Ultimate and every time it opens it informs me that it can't find a particular printer driver settings.  In fact this is because this driver does not exist on the computer.  OK I can ignore it but is there a way to remove it from the list of printers?  It seems to have arisen since Epson updated the drivers so I get Driver and Copy 1 driver.  I have removed from within windows 10 printers as well.  Thanks

I have always had good luck removing a driver from DEVICES and PRINTERS. Right clcik on the printer and Remove Device.

Just for the heck of it, I just removed an old BROTHER printer from my devices and printers.
It is gone from Qimage as well as Printers and devices.

Hi,Thanks for reply.  I did remove it in the way you said already but it still appears in my list of printers in Qimage.  As a resilt, every time I open Qimage it warns me that that printer is missing.  I tried turning printer warning off but I still get the message.
Any more ideas?

I hesitate to ask you to delete it manually from the SAVED folder area, because I seem to recall Mike saying something about Windows checking printers being involved.
So lets see if we can get Mike on this.

I had a quick look in the Qimage Application Folder but nothing obvious and I don't want to change anything there.  AS you say, hopefully Mike will pick this query up and suggest a solution.
Thanks for your help.

Qimage will only list printers that are installed in Windows: printers that appear in "Printers and Scanners" in Windows.  It has no way to list any printer that is not installed because it won't find it.  So if you drop down "Printer" in Qimage, the only way you'll see your printer listed in that drop-down list is if it is still installed in Windows.  If you drop down "Printer" in Qimage and see an uninstalled printer in the list, it means that the uninstall of that printer failed and it left pieces behind.  So I suspect the printer isn't "listed" but rather Qimage is trying to restore settings for that uninstalled printer, sees it is no longer installed, and is giving that message.  So...

Go into Qimage and after you get past the error message, drop down "Printer" (top right) and select the new printer you want to use.  Now look at the settings lock button top left (button with gear icon).  Does it have a lock on it?  If it does, you've "locked down" Qimage startup settings and you'll need to unlock those settings by clicking on that gear button to remove the lock symbol.  Then exit Qimage and reopen it: problem should be solved.

Regards,
Mike

Well that worked!  Never thought about the lock button.
Many thanks to both of you for solving the problem.
