HI, folks I have some more questions. More often than not I use different width rolls. 10", 17" and 24" rolls. In order to use the paper efficiently I would like to create some layouts. For example I would like to do a 16x20 print on a 17" roll and name the layout as such. 16x20 on 17" Roll. I use portrait mode for all roll work as you previously suggested for roll paper.

The way I have been doing this is to go into the print driver for the printer and create a "user defined" layout. I created one with the width of 17" and a paper height of 22" which gives me a few inches extra on the bottom.

Then of course I select this in the media size on the print and settings tab in Qimage.

So far I have created some custom layouts like a 13x19 on a 17" Roll each time creating a user defined layout in the printer driver.

Is this the best way to create specific layouts on roll paper?

Here's the way I do it, not needing to mess with driver saves.
The only need to open thge driver would be to set quality and Shut off color management.

I open my Qimage.
 I select the paper type.
I set source as Roll Paper
I open Media size and select CUSTOM
Then I go to Size and type 17.0 in width box and 22.0 in Length
Click green check to activate

Now, just to the right of the properties, there's a yellow "open" icon, and to the right of that is a SAVE icon.
Click that and name the SAVE and SAVE. It will be saved as a printer setup......
So to recall it, just click the yellow folder for OPEN icon.
It will all return as you set it.

Next case.
Suppose you want to arrange two or three prints on a 17 x 22? But you want to position the prints and different sizes and you want to keep this set up.
Instead of using images, you insert templates, size them, place them, and Save the whole thing the same way, except for CLICKING  the L button for Layout instead of the P button for Printer.

Recalling a Layout is done from the PRINTS Tab and the Custom/Layout button.

Screen snaps should be self explanatory

This should help

Thats great, where you show Custom Size for Media Size mine shows User Defined, can't see the Custom Size in that drop down.

Perhaps you mean User Defined?

The wording depends on the printer (driver).  Some say Custom while others may say User Defined.  They are one and the same.
