40x30 at what resolution (PPI)?  Qimage is limited to 2GB so depending on the resolution setting, that may be too large for print to file.  Print to printer has no limitation but when printing to file, it all has to be put in one file.

If you set up a 30x40 page at 300 PPI, the memory required is (30*300)*(40*300)*3 which is 324MB and that would work.  But if you were to pick something like 720 PPI the calculation would be (30*720)*(40*720)*3 and that is almost 2GB so you may run into trouble because on top of the 2GB required for the output page, Qimage still has to have enough memory to load the original image and process it... so that adds to the 2GB.
