Hey guys,

After the recent update (or rather the one before v2017.108), my saved settings and jobs are missing or it won't open from the same location, not too sure which. In any case, I can't seem to recall any of my previous saved jobs. I clicked on the 'go to the job log folder' icon next to the recall 'Look in: / search bar' and I can see the previous jobs, but not saved as the names I saved them as. How do I locate the saved jobs that were previously saved?

[added] also i just tried saving a new job, a warning came out (as attached)

Thanks

Hi JT
Lst's get some stuff lined up first.
C:\Programdata\ddisoftware\qimage is where you will find the actual folders you need to use.
See screen snap 021
The SAVE folder contains almost everything that is saved with different suffixes so they can be sorted and selected.
Jobs, Templates, Printer setups, sessions, etc.
Saved Cache and thumbs are in a different folder; Saved dat6a base entries in a DB folder, etc.

How you got that crazy named folder, I do not know....  But to get your system on track we need to provide the PATH shown above: see snap 018

If you can find that alien folder, and rename it, swell. If not, I would use the migrate tool or manually create a new save folder, and then copy the contents of the alien folder into the new SAVE folder.

That begs the question, are the oter folders OK? Cache and thumbs, OK?

(The only thing I can guess to cause that folder to get corrupted like that might be the write cache in your hard drive might have got shut down in the middle of saving something.)

The migrate tool is located in the Utilities drop down menu
It is used to move your Application folders either to a new location  on same computer or from an old computer location.

Have a shot, and report back.  If no luck, I'll let Mike know we need his expert help.

It's not a folder but a manually saved Job with .jst extension. JL says the name is corrupted.
The only thing I can suggest is go to the QU Application Data/Save folder and look directly there as Fred has suggested.
If that is corrupted, maybe you have a back up??
If not, re--install QU with your anti-virus turned off temporally.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info. I'm not too sure what happened, all my saved jobs under the 'save' folder of the program data under qimage are gone! When I click on the recall button, all my previously saved jobs are gone! (see image1)

But the strange thing is that when I click on the 'go to job log folder' (highlighted in the red box, see image2), all my job logs appeared, all the way from 2013, and I can recall the jobs when I click on them. The file/job names however are not the names I saved them as. So the job, I assume exists somewhere, I just can't recall them under the 'save' folder, nor the name I saved them with.

Thanks

Did you scroll this box?
Looks like there's more to be seen

The last capture you show looks like the automated job log so it would have all your jobs in there but with the date-time name assigned by QU.  I once thought I had lost all of my saved jobs/sessions also, but realized that I had been working on a specific project so I had put them in a specially named sub-folder.  Suggest you go to the highest parent folder you have and them start working your way down.

Hey guys,

I found out the reason why! I saved the job data under another drive in my PC (when I first installed QU several years ago). I'm not too sure why the recent update or maybe an update on my PC caused QU to revert back to locating my saved jobs under the default QImage save folder.

Thanks Fred, Terry for all your help, and MelW for suggesting that it might have been in another folder which got me thinking I might have saved it elsewhere instead!

Hi JI,
Thank you for coming back to the forum to report on the solution. It helps others.

Just a note, unless Mike changed the installer in recent years, my rememberer says that the QU installer remembers the last location it was set to, and keeps it for next time.
It makes perfect sense, updating and repeating your wishes.
That may account for the location fom before.

OK all is well...

One other point to remember is that when you do migrate the Program Data to another drive, a copy is left in the original location on C-Drive. If you accidently browse to that at a later date, it will seem that items are missing.

Hey Terry,
I don't think I actually migrated the data over, I think I had initially set it to another drive in my PC when I first installed QU.

Fred, yup, not too sure what happened, might have been an issue with my PC, never had an issue with all the updates previously.

Thanks again guys!
