It is hard to nail but when I use a 120x120 mm image size and set a 50 mm +border around it there is no +border added, at least not in the preview window but it is shown correctly in Print Queue numbers so I guess it will print correctly. Setting a 30 +border gives the correct preview but will fail if the image size is smaller say 60x80 mm. Selecting a 121x121 mm frame allows the 50 mm border again. I guess there is a flaw in the output to the preview window.

In the versions 2013.103 and 2013.107.

Hello Ernst,
I've tried to reproduce what you say and cannot.
The page preview works perfectly here whatever the size of image and border.

Terry,

Windows Vista 64 here, metric selection in Qimage Ultimate. Quit Qimage and load it again. With the default small sizes and custom made ones. When the image is loaded and after that when selected and image size or border changed. It works or does not work and the difference is size related. The smaller the image, the smaller the +border has to be to show in preview. The blue selection contour line captures the area by the same "logic".

Ernst,
I assume you mean the QU page preview and not the driver print preview.
I'm on Windows 7 64 bit and QU is set to metric as usual for me.
Whatever I do, shutting down QU as you say, changing image sizes, big or small borders, I can always see the border shown on the page preview.

The only time it disappears is when the image + border is too big for the page and QU says it will print over more than 1 page.

Terry,

The print page preview in Qimage. Either the 1 or 2 B+ border menu entry, both act the same. The larger the printed image size, the faster and better it responds
In general the size and border setting pop-up menu is flaky in this OS. Quite often it does not stay right away and I have to do it two or three times, the more if there are already images on the print page. Has been going on much longer.

Ernst,
With Fred's help we did some more tests and concluded that something odd is going on, although can't reproduce your situation exactly.
See screen shots below.
A4 page on an Epson printer; image size set to 120 x 120 mm.
1st screen shot: with 40mm B+ border, overall size 200x200 mm as expected.
2nd screen shot: with 45mm B+ border, overall size 210x210mm and spread over 2 A4 pages with the border is not visible as expected because height of page is only 204mm
3rd screen shot: border changed back to 40mm B+, BUT overall image size reduced to 194x194 mm.

I can correct the 3rd situation by re-selecting the 120x120 mm size in custom print properties.

I'm sure Mike will see this and comment.

Ernst,
Would you please tell us the paper (page) size you were using so that further checks can be done.

Terry,

A large print page size that did not interfere with the image size selections. I can not recall which one but I had no intention to print actually so I used a wide format size. I had an image with 5:6 size ratio and I was looking for a border width that could fit a given frame size. Then I hit on the Qimage preview issues.  I have to make a small custom frame anyway, the usual frame ratios do not work with that image size ratio whatever border width is used.
