Title: System has to be Restarted When Updating to v2011.106?

That usually isn't required.

The install has not changed.  You must have been running Qimage when you installed it.  Any system will require a restart if it sees the program you are installing is running while you are installing it.

Mine, too!
I even downloaded and installed again, and it asked for a reboot again. I closed all the web screens, and 106 was installed cleanly without the reboot. So it seems to be some message in error.

It's not a problem in the install.  Either you have a lingering/stuck qimage.exe in your processes or maybe your AV program is stepping in the way.  The install is identical to all prior versions.  I've tried the 106 install on both 32 and 64 bit W7 both from within the web browser (FireFox) and by downloading the file and clicking on it.  I never get any message about restarting.

Yes, Qimage was open when I installed.  I thought in the past if QI was open during the install it would automatically close. Perhaps not or maybe it was the old QI that did that.

Mine is not opened, and is not a Qimage glitch.
My system just started doing that (Please reboot) thing, and it does it with older Qimage versions too,
I have some detective work to do.

I should have said I'm on Win 7 64bit.

I just did another install of 106 but this time with everything closed, including my Chrome Browser, and all went well.  No restarting required.  Guess I'll have to make sure it's closed next time although I could have sworn it wasn't required before.

Thanks,

Tom
