Hello all
I've just been printing on a paper that I've been using for years with a self-made ICC profile (I use Datacolour Print) which was very accurate but now the colours have gone very pink!
The only thing that's changed in my set-up recently is a couple of new ink tanks and the Qimage version.

So I've down-graded Qimage to a set-up file which I just happened to have on my desktop v2022.114 and re-printed with the exact same settings and there is a noticeable difference in colours.

I understand that Qimage evolves - which is great, but I guess I'm going to have to re-profile my papers to work with how Qimage now works.

So, my question is... just to be 100% sure Smiley
What settings should I have when I print my colour targets for profiling?

At the moment I turn off and disable the printer management, but what else should be turned off?
What should the rendering intent be?
Black point compensation on or off?
Interpolate? Off, Fusion, Forge or another?

My set up
Qimage v2022.121
Win 11
Canon iPF9400

Many thanks in advance.

The set up is done for you... Just find the target printing job and open it. See attachments.

Also must mention that printer profiles can self corrupt from time to time.

Need to be replaced.

There won't be a visible difference in color between versions provided your profile isn't "broken" in some way.  When in doubt, you can email me the profile and I can check to see if there is a problem with that profile.  Switching between versions to compare can be deceiving because different versions can sometimes pick up different settings.

As to how to print color targets for profiling, there's a job for that.  Click File, Recall, and open the {Q} Printer target setup.job.  Then everything will be set for you.  If you own a Canon or Epson printer, Qimage should turn off color management in the driver automatically but you can open the driver if you like to verify that color management is OFF or NONE in the driver.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks, Fred and Mike
I didn't know about the Printer target setup.job.... every day is a school day LOL!

I will use that and make up a new, fresh ICC profile and see how I get on.
