Title: Templates Post by: Jules on August 02, 2017, 04:41:32 PM Somebody please steer me to a tutorial on how to make a template. I have looked everywhere but now found what I need. I have lots of similar sized images, and i just want to dump them onto the page and for them to all position equally spaced over the page in a fixed grid. i think I need a Template to do this but don't know how to creat my own template.
Thanks in advance. Jules Title: Re: Templates Post by: Fred A on August 02, 2017, 05:26:40 PM Quote do this but don't know how to creat my own template. Fred is talking about a Template that is a saved layout that can be used over and over again.Positioning multiple images on a page automatically is what QU does! I think what you want is easier than that, Use Template or Template\Centered print placement. See attached screen shot. Why? and When? It explains that adding images and moving them around doesn't even need a template. Adding images and sorting is covered under the heading of Intelligent Sort. I watched that and get lost when Mike says...Load the Templates! What templates, how were they designed, how does Q know how many images I need across and down? Title: Re: Templates Post by: Jules on August 02, 2017, 08:48:44 PM Hi Jules, My problem seems to be that a template is shown (how it got there I do not know) but when I drag my images into it, they just load in from the top left to the bottom right. Then when I select them all (or not) and go to my Template image placement drop down below, whateve choice I make doesn't seem to get the positioning how I want it which is equally spaced 8 across and 7 down. I guess I'm doing something very wrong. Title: Re: Templates Post by: Fred A on August 02, 2017, 10:10:47 PM Quote Ok, I'm trying to lay 53 images on an A2 and want them niceley spaced 8 across and 7 down with a couple empty. Somehow, I don't know how but I seem to have a Template that looks like this Ok Jules, Both Terry and I were sure you were asking about putting a random bundle of images on screen. Now with more specifics,,,,,, I would go to Custom Sizes and select Number of Prints per page. Then columns and Rows... 8 x 7 Add images See snaps Need more, just holler. I can make a video for you Fred Title: Re: Templates Post by: Fred A on August 02, 2017, 10:26:53 PM To Create your own template:
The last thumbnail in the bunch, any folder, is the Template. Click the plus. Size it like a print. Position it on the on the page ig you need to. When you have what you want, simply click the save icon top left, and then the "L" button for Layout. Name it, and click Save. *****To use it. You recall it from CUSTOM Layout and find the name you gave it. Fred Title: Re: Templates Post by: Jules on August 03, 2017, 05:02:14 PM Fred. Thank you so much for not getting tired of my questions. I think I have now done what I wanted with your help. Clicking the last blank image to get a template mad me wonder what happens if I have different sixed images in that folder. I tried it. it seems to default to the largets. I also see that if I open my 'Prints' drop down (between Printer Settings and Queue) and click on any of my saved sizes, then that also gives me a template of that size evenly spread across the page.
So I think at last I am understanding Templates. Thank you. Jules |
