I hope this is just a setting problem.  Just installed QU and everything is great, except trying to edit an image.  I double click an image in the queue, and the edit screen comes up.  The image of the photo flashes where it is supposed to be for a fraction of a second, and then turns blank white.  All the controls are there, and the menus are at the top--but no image.  Right clicking and dragging the preview screen across the blank white area brings up a blinking image of the photo, but as soon as the left click button is released (no matter where the dragging stopped) the photo image disappears, replaced by the blank white screen.  Love this program, but would be grateful for any help with this problem.

First question is how can you be old Fred, when I am old Fred?

1) You wrote that you double click the image in the queue and you are in the EDIT screen.
OK I expected you to be in the image editor.

2) But then you say:

This makes me believe that you are in the Page editor screen, That would be the screen where you can drag across white  areas.
A couple of screen snaps would help.

Does your screen look more like my image 076, 077, or 078?

I'm sorry, I'm probably not using the correct terminology to identify QU page or screen names.  Looking at the instructional videos (which are great), I thought by double clicking a photo in the queue that a page came up that allows the photo to be edited.  The attached screen snap is what comes up.  It appears to be the same screen that is in the videos, but where the photo should be, there is a blank area.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong.  Also, not sure if I have correctly attached the screen snap.

Ok so we narrowed it down to the Image Editor screen.

I cannot read the top left corner where the image filename would appear.
Look at my screen snaps.
Is there a real file name of an image showing like in mine?
Click on VIEW. Does that look like mine?
Back to the main screen.
Now hover the mouse over the thumbnail and tap the spacebar. Do you see the image?
If the answer is NO, then click the blue ball next to the Monitor Profile and uncheck enable profile.
Now try it.
Does this happen with all images or just one?  What type of file is it.

Yes, there is a real file name:
IMG_3048.JPG (2589 x 2082), Image 1 of 1

View menu pull-down is exactly like yours

Back to main screen.  Mouse over thumbnail, tapped space bar; photo flashed for a fraction of a second then went blank again.

Unchecked the enable profile, retried, and everything worked perfect.  Problem had been with all images, but all work fine now.

Original problem photo attached; I'm the short guy on the right.  Thanks again.

Well, Glad we got a winner for a change.
That's  not the end of the story.
What WAS in the box before you disabled the profile? What was the name of the monitor profile that was enabled?
Where did you get it?
The  answer might help other people.

You are on the right?
On the right?  Which right? As I look, or from your eye standing in front of the camera?
The bearded man is a fake miner. He has a brand new shovel just for the camera.
The man in the middle is a manager of sorts and oversees the mine entrance and tourists.
He's too clean to actually work and has a pen in his pocket...  The hard hats look shiny too, again for pictures.
Only the kid on the right actually does anything... He has dirty knees, and is smiling because it's payday, and he is off tomorrow.

Have a good time with your Qimage

PS. Instead of OFF for the Monitor Profile, at least slip in an sRGB.icm which you will find came with Qimage.
If you can't find it, holler and I'll send it to you.

Either way, whatever it was, DELETE it. It is certainly not a clean monitor profile.

By the way, you can keep OLD FRED.
