Hello Group,

I have been using Pro for years and I just downloaded the trial of Ulitmate and I am having an issue I didn't have in the Pro version.

My TIFF file is losing all the work I did in Photoshop to levels, color balance, etc.

The windows explorer thumbnail looks right, but in Qimage it looks like the file before I did the edits.  I saved the file as a tiff with no additional layers.

Am I missing a setting?  A quick reply would really help.  Trying to avoid printing back in Pro with only Hybrid Interpolation vs the new version.

Thanks!

Hello Flydog,
Qimage Ultimate does not "loose tiff information"
From what you say, are you just looking at the thumbnails, have you looked at the image full screen using hover mouse over & space bar? What about in the page editor or image editor?
Have you looked at the images in Q Pro; what do they look like there? There is no particular reason why the appearance in Q Pro and QU should be any different.
Try the Edit menu, Re-Build thumbs.
Also
Have you got thumbs set to best quality from Edit, Preferences, thumb quality?
Is you monitor profile set properly?
Is QU showing the correct profile for the image in the exif hotbar below the thumbs? If not the image needs to have the profile embedded - set PS accordingly or override using the QU Editor.

Sorry about all the questions but they should help to find what is wrong with either your image or a basic setting most of which are no different from Q Pro.

I have one more question. (Sorry to butt in)

Did you do the work, color balance etc, to the Tiff or to a PSD and then convert to a TIFF?

Thanks Terry for your really great message!  I will try all that now.  I did have the settings right but for some reason the thumbnails don't appear as they should.

Hi Fred,

I always do all the editing to adjustment layers in PSD then I save as a flattened TIFF file.
I am still having trouble seeing the edits in the print event though I have a pretty good set up with regards to
profile and calibrated monitors.

Ben,
A couple more questions:
1) What do you mean: The thumbnails don't  appear as they should?
2) Hover the mouse over the thumb and press the space bar. How does that image look?
3) Hover the mouse over the thumb of the Tiff, and read the hotbar information, paying attention to the profile/color space applied to the image.
See attached screen snap.
You can see the end of the line shows RGB.icm.... what does yours say, and does it have asterisks before and after.?
4) Is your monitor profile applied in Qimage and showing the correct name in the MON profile box?
