Title: Trouble printing large files Post by: team2jnd on February 11, 2022, 11:43:53 PM I print a lot of large Panos that are often ~2GB. Today I noticed that I can't seem to get a few of my files to print. The previews show "image read error". I searched the forum and tried to open in photoshop and save as a ZIP. That allowed me to see the thumbnail. However, when I go to print, I get an error saying there is not enough memory for that action. How can that be when I have printed these files without issue in the past? I have 32GB Ram installed. Any help would be much appreciated!

When you say split in two pieces, how would that work? I also have a file that is 1.7GB that is giving me similar issues. What is frustrating is I was able to print this file and then opened it in lightroom to make a slight temperature change and now it won't print. I wouldn't think that change could increase the size but maybe? The file is showing 2.01 GB Now haha. I am thinking it might also be in my workflow and HOW I export? I am sure it's some type of user error. When I work with smaller files, everything goes perfectly.
Thank you for the help! Title: Re: Trouble printing large files Post by: admin on February 13, 2022, 06:45:07 AM When you say 4x12, are we talking feet? Lightroom can add alpha channels and other things that make the file bigger. The size of the image is not always the size of the file. The size that matters is the resolution x 3. X * Y * 3.
Also, if it's a 16 bit TIFF, that doubles the size: X * Y * 6. Mike |
