The Canon Pro-1000 printer, and others in that series, have separate channels for their black inks.  That is, the PK ink has its nozzles and the MK has its.  No purging is necessary to use them. However, I believe that the print job must specify which black ink is to be used.

Can the Qimage unclogged use each black?

Thanks, John

Hi John,
The answer is yes!
You make two unclogger setups one for Glossy paper and one for matte.
You still use the "copy paper" for the print, but the driver setting thinks it has glossy or matte.

I remembered there was a video that touched on how to doit.

Fred, it does not appear that I can schedule the matte and glossy to print in an alternate sequence.  I setup matte to start in two day and print every 4th day.  I then set up glossy to print in 4 days and print every 4th day.  On reviewing the jobs after setting up glossy, it said the jobs would start printing on the day the glossy was set to (actually 5th day).

What am I missing here?  How can I check when jobs are scheduled?  Selecting different setups does not not show different scheduling info for different (glossy, matte) printers.

Also, why, under "print clog pattern to these printers" does none saved yet" still show?

Hi John,
Good questions.
I had to review Mike's video on the Unclogger to verify that he made only ONE schedule, but you can schedule for as many printers as you might have.
On the "Nothing Saved Yet", just right click that, and delete. Close the Unclogger, and it is gone for good.
Have a look at Mike's video.
Fred
