Title: Unclog schedule PK & MK
Post by: jrsforums on November 02, 2018, 08:42:28 PM
I have. Canon Pro-1000.  I like to run the unclog print every other day to reduce deep cleaning cycles, which use a lot of ink.

Both black (PK/MK) are attached to the print head (not like Epson, which switches blacks).  If I just set up one unclog print, I can only set this up for one black.  To ensure each black gets used, I need to print two pages, which wastes ink, using all the other colors twice.

Any thoughts on a solution.  It appears I cannot set up one print, with PK, for one cycle and the next cycle, use MK. Etc., etc.

John

Hi John,
I have done this with previous Epsons which DID have both blacks running all the time.

Simply make two setups; one setting the driver to Glossy paper, and a second setup using matte paper.
Run half page print outs  instead of full page, and uncheck the colors in the second run with matte.

..... as if you had two printers.

Hope this does it for you.
Fred
