Hi, Mike….happy New Yera’s eve!

I cannot seem to find the correct settings to do what I want. I have a Canon Pro-1000.  I would like to print an unclog every 2 days…first (#1) with all colors plus PBK black (glossy paper, all colors +black) and just (#2)MBK black (plain paper, black).

I have 2 jobs defined as above, but cannot come up with a proper scheduling definition to do it….that is, print #1on day 1, #2 on day 3, #1 on day 5, etc.

Can you help?  Thanks.

Happy New Year!

Something is printing every 2 days and each of the 2 jobs print every 4 days alternating, so...

First think about the bus schedule: how often the bus has to stop at the bus stop.  Then answer is every 2 days because something is printing on all odd days (1,3,5,7,etc.).  So set the baseline schedule at the top to every 2 days.

Next look at the per-job cycle tuning at the bottom right of the schedule dialog.  Set both of your jobs to "Every 4 days" and then just set one of the two jobs to start (print on) "1st cycle" and the other to start (print on) "2nd cycle".

In summary:
- Set the baseline schedule on the top to every 2 days
- Set one job to print on the 1st cycle and then every 4 days
- Set the other job to print on the 2nd cycle and then every 4 days

Regards,
Mike

Related to auto printing, is there a way to print one image a day from a directory of images?

The unclog (purge sheets) are the only thing that can be scheduled.

Would be nice to add a feature like this. Pushing the print button and haivng a "print now" or "print on x date" dialogue would be very usefull.

To be honest, this doesn't sound like something anyone would use.  What would be the purpose?

So this got me halfway there, but I can't figure out the next step is.

I also have a Pro 10 that I would like to alternate between Glossy and Matt on a weekly instead of a daily schedule.
How would I add this to the queue so both printers will run?

In the end, I would like the Pro 10 to alternate a weekly job and the Pro 1100 to alternate daily jobs.

Something is printing every week so the main schedule (at the top of the schedule dialog) is 7 days.

Then down at the bottom of the scheduler, your glossy job would print on the 1st cycle, then every 14 days.
The matte job would print on the 2nd cycle, then every 14 days.

Sorry, I didn't get quite across.

Something is printing every day.

For Pro1100
Day 1 matt
Day 2 glossy
so every alternating day

For Pro10
Day 1 10 matt
Day 7 10 glossy
so every alternating week

You can't have two different cycle timings (days and weeks) and the most cycles that can be skipped is 7, so the closest you can get is compromising on one or the other:

(1) Print every 2 days and have your Pro-1100 alternate glossy/matte but skipping a day: printing something every other day.  Then your Pro-10 can print every week alternating glossy/matte.  Or...

(2) Print every day and have your Pro-1100 print every day alternating matte/glossy.  Then your Pro-10 can print every 3 days alternating glossy/matte.

So you only have to compromise on one or the other, either printing a bit more than your proposal on one printer or printing a bit less on the other: take your pick.

I have increased the number of offsets in the cycle tuning from 7 to 14 in the scheduler which will allow you to do both alternating days and weeks when using a 1 day main schedule.  It will be in 2025.101, out in the next week or so.

The new 14 day selections for the cycle tuning are now in 2025.101 so you can now do exactly what you wanted.  Just set the main cycle timing to every day and then:

(1) Every other day schedule for 2 alternating printers.  Set cycle tuning to print on day 1 and then every 2 days for one printer, print on day 2 and print every 2 days for the other.

(2) Every other week schedule for 2 alternating printers.  Set cycle tuning to print on day 1 and then every 14 days for one printer, print on day 7 and then every 14 days for the second printer.
