Title: uneven borders
Post by: brucet on April 19, 2015, 12:03:59 AM
Don't know what I've done. Maybe it's just age!!!
QImage Ultimate. Epson 1410. For some unknown reason, to me, my prints are getting an uneven border and I don't know how to fix it. I'm printing on A4 and A3+ paper. On both occasions my leading edge is about twice the width of the trailing edge. Both sides are fine.
Is there a simply way I can make about a 2mm adjustment? (I have two presets that I Recall for each size of paper that use the same setting except for paper size).

regards

Try Edit>Preferences>Print and Page Options>Page Margins and 'Clear Margins'.

Thanks.
I've tried that.
I get 'strange' results.
Top and left are the same. Bottom and right are the same. But not the same as top and left. ie I'm using A4 landscape. I have figures of Top and left 2.963mm. Yet bottom and right are 2.999mm. Same figures for A3+.

Yeah not much difference. Where I'm coming unstuck is when I order 50+ mat boards and try to square them when mounting. ie all my mounting has to be marginally off set.
Not the end of the earth but annoy nonetheless.

regards

.... and also check your placement setting on the main screen... should be Optimal Spaced.

Try this:
With your image in the queue, ready to print except for your placement concerns, Go into the page editor screen, and click the SIZE LOCATION tab.
Read the placement numbers in the boxes representing the 4 sides.
With Optimal Placement selected, you should show even readings left and right; and again top and bottom.
If you do see that all OK, and still get whacko placement, then check the driver settings which could override.

Thanks Fred A. Got it. Mind you it's whole mm out! (Bottom of page is 1mm difference. A rounding error!! Limit of printer). Get a message that tells me to live with the difference. Well no quite but near enough.

thanks.

OK now tap the arrow key that can move the placement a little.
... or type in the number you want.
I don't handle mms well.  But I can do .01 inch per tick.
