Title: Update Qimage cache after adjustments have been made in Lightroom
Post by: sparky4460 on February 18, 2022, 07:56:42 PM
Lets say I export an image into Qimage.  After analyzing in Qimage I want to go back and make some adjustments in Lightroom.  What is the best way to update the Qimage cache images to reflect the changes in LR?

You don't have to worry about that.  If you make a change to an existing file, Qimage will see the file-modified date has changed (is different from the last time it built thumbnails) and it'll rebuild them automatically.  You did mention "cache" but I think you are referring to exporting TIFF or JPEG images since Lightroom uses sidecar files for raws and Qimage won't read those anyway (hence there is nothing LR can do that will affect Qimage's raw cache).

Mike

Thanks Mike,  I did a few experiments making some obvious adjustments like converting to B&W and I now see Qimage is picking the changes up.  It did not appear that way before.  I was concerned Qimage was reading the old version file and not the new adjustment one.  Thanks for your response.

Note that if you already have Qimage open in the folder where you are doing edits, you may need to press F5 after you go back to Qimage to tell it to refresh the thumbs before it will pick up the fact that you changed some image(s).
