Hi, I want to print an image at original size. The original image is, very slightly, bigger than the A4 I want to print.
When I select 'Original size' in the print property dialog. I then get Selected print size is lager that one page - select 'Yes' to print across multiple pages or 'No' to reduce the size of the image to fit on a single page.

What I really want is the 'Yes' option but only print the first page and proceed similar to Photoshop's 'some image clipping will occur' otherwise I end up with a few millimetres of print on a second page!!

I know I can go to page editor and select a smaller area which will then fit but does anyone know a way of achieving what I want?

Thanks Seán

When you select original size, make sure the over ride box is not checked and that you have the ppi selected to what you think it should be in case that image doesn't carry that information.

Turn off the auto crop on the print, and you should be fine.

1. Set your driver to preview before printing and when the preview opens use that to remove the second page.
2. use the borderless setting in the driver to increase the printable area.
Finally do it the best way, the Qimage way ...
3. Use Qimage properly, forget original size and specify the print size in ins or mm with the crop scissors on and set the cop as you require in the page editor and then print.

Thank you both for your replies.

Fred - Not sure what you mean by over ride box

Terry - I can't see a preview option on my printer driver

Just to give you some more information on what I'm doing. I want to print decals onto water slide paper on a laser printer. The decals have to be original size as any reduction and they just won't fit. All my decals were set up in Photoshop on a A4 page 210mm x 197mm. It's no big deal for me to open Photoshop and print and ok the 'some image clipping will occur' dialog on an individual decals, however, to print several I thought I could use Qimage and set to original size and print.

See screen shot below from print Properties - Custom -Use Embedded size. Top right of box.

I'm surprised that there is no print preview option, what printer are you using?

Sean

QImage doesn't work like Photoshop, you don't have the option to allow clipping.
There are several ways round this:
1 You can crop in QI (which you have tried).
2 You can crop in Photoshop first (set to 'Clear'), or set up the Photoshop page smaller to start with.
3 Set the print driver to just print 'Page 1'

Terry - Printer is Oki ES5430 laser printer

Brian - Thanks for reply - Only printing Page 1 (If I could find such an option!) would defeat the purpose of using Qimage to print more than one decal at a time.

I think it's time to give up on using Qimage for this purpose!!

Thank again,
Seán
