I've upgraded to Ultimate (v2016.123) from a previous version (QImage Pro I think), here's a few questions

1. I've had some issues regarding files not being found, can't remember the first one, but the second one was q.bmp. I've just copied the file from a backup, but is this indicative of any other problems?

2. I used to be able to double click an image for it to be moved to the printing area, which was great, but this no longer happens, instead it gets open for editing. Is there an option for reverting to the previous behaviour?

3. If I have a few images in the print area all ready to print, and I press Ctrl/E to edit, the images sometimes change to a completely different size in the print area, and I have to start all over again

Other than that, all looking good and a nice program

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,
Bernie

Hi Bernie.
Let's start from teh beginning.
The latest Qimage Ultimate is version 2016- 137

Usually seeing a q.bmp indicates a bad installation
Best suggestion at this point is to download the latest version and disable the anti virus program you use during teh download and during the install.
Then we will see how you are doing.
Remember to Enable the virus program when teh install is done.
Try just a fresh install. Sometimes that's all you need.

Thanks for the quick reply, I've now updated to v2016.137 of Ultimate, installation was smooth

I'm not seeing any error messages, although as I said, I'd already eliminated those anyway.

I still have the same problems as in 2 and 3 in my original post, the resizing (as described in 3) is intermittent, I'd say it does it about 50% of the time.

OK now that we have an error free install,
Your issue 2, no longer operates that way. Hasn't ever in Ultimate.
Now, a double click on a thumbnail gives you an individual editor for that image; no next or previous, just that image.
It's very quick and handy,
If you want the image to go into the queue, just click the + sign of the thumbnail.

Issue 3, ... Ctrl/E is the keyboard shortcut for the PAGE editor. It does not change the size .
In there, you can print crop, move images around on a page, add text, loads of stuff.

Please give an example of why6 yiou think the print size changed.

You are doing fine.

Ahh, I didn't realise I could click on the '+' icon, yes that makes it easier (I was dragging and dropping)

Yes, I appreciate that Ctrl/E brings up the page editor and that it shouldn't change the size, but it does, but not every time, here's an example

1. I set the paper size to A3 super, custom print size of 15 x 10
2. I added 3 images to the print area (image 1) and they look the right sizes
3. I press Ctrl/E to confirm that they are the sizes I want (no other keys pressed or menus clicked on)
4. Size of all images change to 8in on long edge (image 2)

From what I can see, you probably have orientation lock on along with print Placement as TEMPLATE...
Set print placement to Optimal Spaced.
Turn off orientation lock
I cannot see if you have it on, but that would be the only way I can think of to create your issue.
It's hard for me to tell by the screen images as it seems like two templates in the Page editor.
Try Optimal Center and orientation lock off

Orientation lock was already off, I'm not sure what the print placement was set to, as I havn't changed it for ages. So I made sure it was set to 'Optimal Spaced' and the problem hasn't re-occured so far.

Thanks for your help, I havn't been able to test in earnest, it looks like it's fixed, but will re-post if it starts happening again

OK Bernie.
Placement is important...
The orientation lock was just a side item in case..... sometimes you have a portrait image and with lock off, it will try to fit the wrong way. Just to save paper.

To be honest, it felt like a bug as it didn't do it every time, Usually it would happen just the first time, ignoring my custom setting size, and then when I went back and reset the custom size and then moved the images again to the print area (in exactly the same way as before and without changing any other settings), it would be ok.
