Title: Using Images with Adobe 1998 (Linear Profile)
Post by: jaon on June 06, 2024, 12:30:59 PM
Hi Folks

Received some images from a client today that I could open in a few of my image editors but for some reason they appeared as pure white (no detail) in QIU. I noticed that the embeded profiles were Adobe RGB 1998 (Linear profile) so I opened them in my image editor and output a new version with the standard Adobe RGB 1998 profile. QIU was then able to "see" the files. Is there a way to get QIU to work with these? I am guessing that I may need to add the newer profile to my color profile directory but unable to find a download for this. Or is this issue unrelated?

Never heard of these linear profiles until today, so forgive my lack of knowledge on them.

Thanks
John

Qimage can use any profile so it is likely the profile is broken or otherwise non-compliant.  Other software may ignore the profile.  Best thing would be to post the image somewhere so we can look at it.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks Mike

The image file is client property so I can't post it publicly. Could I share a link with you by email?

John
