Title: v123 images not adding to queue correctly (SOLVED)
Post by: PH Focal-Scape on May 30, 2013, 07:10:32 AM
Sorry to bother you. The auto crop button was found to be on. I have never used that function so was not aware of it's affect.

Peter

Mike et al.

Setting up for my first use of v123 I have found images that should "fit to page" are loaded heavily pixelated and seriously cropped.

I don't know of any changes to my QIU setup and am wondering if "playing around" with the new print to file has corrupted something.

Will continue experimenting to see if i can resolve the problem.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Cheers

Peter

Hi Peter,
All worked fine here.
Tell us the parameters you used that gave the problem and so they can be checked elsewhere.

Thanks Terry.

Found the mistake and edited the original post with the explanation.

Again sorry for the false alarm.

Now to do some printing.

Peter

That would normally be necessary to ensure the image filled the page. Eg. if someone had 4:3 images to print on 6x4" (150x100mm), then crop would need to be on to avoid white spaces at each side.
It's no different to printing to printer, crop on fills the envelope of the specified size but will crop if the image aspect ratio is different from the print ratio.

Thanks.

The effect was very "extreme" with very large panoramas!

Good Morning gentlemen,
Just a 2 cents worth.
Auto crop is turned on automatically when you use Print to File, so if you don't want it, which is many times the case with a pano, you would have to shut it off.

It would seem that the page size set was not the correct aspect ratio for the panorama, plus any borders.

Fred

Hence the reason I found the auto crop on. Thanks for making the connection with my experimenting with print to file and the crop setting.
