v2010.104     08/04/10

Priority: Low

v2010.104 now includes the raw cache folder when migrating application data.

Mike -

When you can, please address the issue I raised elsewhere as it is keeping me from using QU.  How can I get QU to use the application data location that I have been using for Studio?  When I installed QU, it started using C:\Documents and Settings, which is where my data used to be until I  moved it over a year ago to my D drive, so QU doesn't see any of my albums or sessions from the past year or more.  Can I just tell QU to migrate to that location?  I don't want it to overwrite the stuff that Studio has put there in the past year.

Thanks

MelW

When you initially installed Qimage Ultimate (demo for example), why didn't you just tell it to use the application data folder on the D drive (the one Studio is using) when it asked you?  In any case, that's what you do: reinstall Qimage Ultimate and when it asks you where you want the application data folder, supply the folder on the D drive that you want: the one that Qimage Studio is using.

Mike

Thanks - I thought it would be something braindead like that.  Don't remember seeing that question  when I installed the demo, I probably just blindly clicked Yes or Next to everything without thinking.  But I don't think it came up when I installed 103 yesterday - maybe because it wasn't an initial installation.  I'll try when I get home tonight - might I need to uninstall first to make sure I get that question about the application data location?

Hmm.  Can't imagine anyone would do that.   ;D  Well, I guess I have to plead guilty to that trick most of the time.  But I assure you, the option is there every time, even after the first install.

Sure is, the screen right after the option to change the program location.

Shor nuff - there it was.  Mike - if you really wanted to get rich - you could make that screen say anything you want - like "By clicking Yes, user agrees to send Mike Chaney $(name a dollar amount). "  I would already be in the poor house, or maybe divorce court. All I can say is  - Doh!

Error when converting Raw file to Tiff. Originally refined Raw file when data was on C drive. Then migrated data to D drive. When I tried to convert raw file to Tiff I received the following error message "Cannot open file "D:\Qimage Data\q.bmp". The system cannot find the file specified."

That is a the bitmap file of the grey "Q" that appears in the thumbnail area while a thumb is building.
Have a look in the Application/Program data folder to see if it is there. You can do this from the Utilities menu.
If not, does the old C-drive folder still exist and can it be copied or just re-install not forgetting to specify the D-drive location of the Application data as you do so.

It's odd that you have this error because that bmp is used every time thumbs are built, I assume that has happened on other operations after migration.
Perhaps Windows has locked the file in some way?

I copied it from the C drive Qimage data folder to the D drive folder and the error is gone. I guess when I migrated it did not migrate that file.
