Try clicking the third button on the upper left of the dialog after you click the cutout button. That should rebuild the previews.

Click "Utilities", "Explore Qimage Application Data". From the explorer window that opens, open the "Thumbs" folder and delete the file "Thumbs.dat" and delete all *.thb files.
