I noticed if I "Cancel a job" to change a setting, the program continues spooling or whatever in the background.  Shouldn't it cancel spooling and processing too when I hit Cancel?

Problem occurred as the printer was set to front-loading and not rear-loading from prior printing.  When the Canon dialog box popped up "To use front loading button," I canceled out but couldn't get back into the program to change the settings until all the Qimage processing continued in the background had finally stopped.  It was a long process waiting (spooling & processing both?) before I could get into the printer settings to change it correctly.

When you Cancel the print operation in QU, it only cancels the QU process, once it says "Finished Processing" below the process bar everything is in the hands of the driver and it is that what has to be cancelled.
If I click the Cancel Print button (top right of screen) while QU is still "processing", it stops almost immediately.
Perhaps I've not understood exactly what happened with your situation?

Thanks Terry.

I never paid attention to that small cancel icon in the upper right corner of Qimage (It's pretty small as is.).  I tried to cancel within the Canon pop-up window to stop the job, which I guess allowed Qimage to run in the background processing all the images and pages.  I'll try canceling with the Qimage upper right icon next time and not the Canon pop-up dialog box and see how that goes.
