As usual, Mike is so understated that I am compelled to report on the new stuff.
First of all HIGH PRIORITY, not LOW!

Here's the deal...
You all remember the new SCB (Smart Color Boost)
You clicked the BOOST button, Q ultimate read the image and decided the maximum color boost it could handle without blowing any colors.
There were a few images that showed too strong a Yellow, or too bright sky.... so we could manually experiment by over writing a 2.55 in the yellow row with?   2.45, 2.35, 2.10, changing all three columns by hand in that Yellow ROW.

Now we have three new features to make it so so easy to find the right setting.

1) Right next to the SCB ball/button there are now up and down arrows which allow you to click a couple of times to change the whole SCB grid up or down in .05 increments. snap 062

2) Next to each COLOR "Y", "R", "B", etc, you will find another set of up/down arrows. This allows you to control individual colors. snap 063

So let's make up an example.
I did SCB (smart color boost) on a water landscape scene which had a lot of green and yellow.
The SCB came up with 2,55 for that image for all the colors.
Yellow looked too strong... click teh down arrow next to the "Y" button and the value of the Yellow will decrement by .05 per click; the whole yellow row with each click!
The wonderful part is that you see the change LIVE in REAL TIME in the preview window box, and you know just when it is just right.

3) Now this is for me, and my old eyes...   snap 064
When you use the eye dropper in Select Color, and click on a color, the correct color in teh vertical color column got underlined.... hard for Fred to see which had the underline.
Now click with the dropper on a color, and the whole row lights up for the affected color.

So I certainly don't call this LOW Priority....

This makes the SCB tool  from Swiss Army knife quality to a surgical scalpel.

Have fun.

Fred

In right pane of QU > Page background color > Pop-up window "Colors"  I can set some RGB values for a "Custom Color" (e.g. RGB = 128, 126, 118).  Press "Add to Custom Colors" and it is shown as a new color on the left.  So far so good...

However, if I exit QU and go back in, the "Custom Colors" are all back to black and nothing was saved there?   Huh?   It does save the last right RGB values prior to exiting, but I have to press "Add to Custom Colors" again.  Plus, I need to write down any other Custom RGB Colors that I had "Saved" in there as it erased them all and I need to re-apply them again on restarting the software.  Seems it forgets any other Custom Colors on exiting.   Sad

Also, "HELP" button doesn't respond in the "Color" pop-up pane either.

Mack, Everything seems to be working fine except the HELP button.
No where does it tell you that it will SAVE a special color, although it does save it if you apply it to the page.
Close Qimage and reopen it, and the color is still there as the page color.
It is still a custom color but has been removed from the holding box, but it stays there until you right click on the page color icon, and it clears it to white.

If you want to save a special hue that you created for the page color, simply SAVE as a JOB.

Thanks Fred.

I was hoping the color/s would remain in the holding box on exiting.  That's why I tried to use the HELP box and found it didn't work.

My printer seems to like RGB 128, 126, 117 as a neutral gray as seen by the i1 spectrometer which reads it as 128, 128, 128.  Some ink color batch discrepanices maybe.  I had hopes that it would stick in the holding box so I could recall it.

Not too clear on what you mean by "Save as a Job?"  I just need to keep the RGB I use most often in the holding box and not erased at some point on program exiting should I chose to go to white or something else.

Set the page color to your desired shade, and Click FILE SAVE.... then the J button.
Give that setup a name... Save.
If it's just the color you want to save, save it as a printer setup, like you would a paper profile set.
It will save with the page color.

You can resave all your printer seups and add a PC to the name indicating Page Color....that way you always have the right color every time.
