Mike, Thanks! This one is what I needed. Frankly, this is the one that will alleviate frustration for me. Many times, someone will ask me for a certain image. Sometimes, Terry will ask to see some bird or water scene that I sent him a while back. All he is able to remind me was the file name.... _MG_6543 or something like that. "Wonderful!" First of all, my camera has been through the numbers three times already. Second, I have tons of water and bird shots; folders are named, but I don't have a clue what numbers (image filenames) are inside. Now I can type in 6543, and click on the new file/folder search button, and VIOLA! It searched through 250,000 in a second and popped every image or file with that name. In my case, I tell it to search C:\Pics All my images are in folders below that main folder... If it's an oldie that I need, then I only need to change the search parameter to D:\Pics; or Y:\ (my backup drives.) It even works on my really old images stored on CDs (before DVDs), and of course DVDs. All I had to do was type in the Drive letter for my DVD drives. Bye Bye Lightroom. Fred |
