v2014.236    Jun 15, 2014

Priority: Low

v2014.236 offers more precise display of noise reduction parameters in raw refine dialog.

Mike,
Please explain some of the numbers.
The G: and C: fractions are obvious showing the amount of noise reduction for Grain and Chroma but what are the numbers in brackets please?

In the meantime, til Mike gets here, The numbers in brackets show the range or spread .....
The first screen snap shows the readings with a 20 on the Fill slider. (#020)
The readings show that the Original ISO was 800
The push was to 5800
The Noise reduction is showing a 10/10 which means it's  ON FULL
It's on full because the range is 400 to 3600; it will turn itself on at 400 and keep increasing until it reaches 3600 or higher at which point, it is FULL ON.

The C or Chroma filter comes on at the 3600 mark, and since the push number is 5800 (higher than 3600) the Chroma filter will come on too

Snap 021 shows the same image with the FILL slider set by Qimage at ZERO

You can see that the Noise Reduction is a 3 because the PUSH changed to 1450, much lower than the 5800 above and the C Chroma is OFF because the PUSH number is lower than the threshold  fo C which is a 3600  for Chroma.
Mike will probably explain a lot better, but you can contemplate in the meantime!!

Thanks Fred.
I had a play with my raw preference settings and could see how the range of iso's changed in the refine screen.
It would be quite nice to see the same data as you adjust the refine settings!
