Can anyone help please, how can I change my Qimage default mail program from 'Windows Live Mail 2011' to the latest one, 'Outlook Email ' which was installed on my W10 computer last week. In Qimage, I go to 'edit' > 'preferences'> 'mail sending options', the old program comes up OK , Qimage resizes OK but I now get a 'Live Mail' error message when I send the email with the image attached. This has happened only since last week's update and I expect it's time to get Qimage to use my latest email program. The default email app on my computer is the latest email program.  I suspect it it may a W10 (or perhaps Firefox) issue but I'm not literate enough to be able to sort it. Can anyone assist please?

Please keep it simple, I'm not very bright!

Gerry

Gerry, It has been a while since I played with the email from Qimage, but let's see if we can get together.
First of all, I don't recall changing any email"program name" in qimage.
I think all you needed to do was insure that you put the latest email OUTGOING server name, your useername for your email, and maybe your email adess.
I just confirmed:
I went to my wife's computer (please don't tell her)
She has Qimage Ultimate installed but never sent a picture from it. Had to set it up from scratch.

I opened the  Email Options in Qimage Ultimate
A dot in the TOP option
I inserted the email server name. In her case, SMTP.Verizon.net
I inserted her username as was shown in her ACCOUNT setup, and email address.
Didn't need the password.
IT works.

I use Thunderbird mail and changed to Thunderbird after really hating Live Mail in W 10.
I didn't have to change anything  in Qimage as long as I didn't change the account settings... same OUTGOING server name, usename and email address.

Try it.

If what explained above doesn't work, I suspect that there are restrictions and protocols Microsoft Outlook that need to be sorted.
I recall over the years that OUTLOOK was desigbned for office use and was very cumbesome for individuals.
That's why Microsofr went to OUTLOOK EXPRESS, for the average person to be able to use.

So, if Outlook refuses to cooperate, either get some local help, or download a FREE Thunderbird program, stick in you servername, passwod and username, and it works.

Thanks for all that Fred....With the dot in the TOP option, the old 2011 program still comes up but with the dot in the bottom option I can send direct from Qimage as against my email program....I think I'll take your advice and go for the 'Thunderbird' program.

Many thanks for your time

FWIW.

I use Thunderbird and the top radio button works.

As Fred knows I'm always for an easy life. I used Virtual Access as my email program for decades and only abandoned it because it baulked at these new fancy HTML mailings. Thunderbird is dead simple. My wife uses it - and that says more about the program than anything...
