v2017.128   May 31, 2017

Priority: Med

2017.128 offers a smaller memory footprint (lower RAM usage) when printing and fixes some minor UI bugs.

Not related to this update but an issue I just started to have.
I am not sure what has happen but all of a sudden the images are printing about twice the size they are suppose to.  I have attached a screen shoot for 4 wallets (2.35x3.35) on  a 5x7 sheet.  I am also attaching a photo of the actual output.  I tried printing from Lightroom and it worked fine as I thought it might have been an issue with the printer.   I have tried printing from a different computer and still getting the same results.  I just updated the program and that did not help.
I can print these to an 8x10 paper and the images are smaller but still not correct size.
This is not limited to 5x7 paper tried print a 4x6 borderless and the image printed bigger than was suppose to (image printed cropped in)  It is like the image being sent to printer is larger than the size shown in live view.

Any clue what has happend?

I can print to file and the images are fine.

In Qimage, the Live View is a literal representation of exactly what is being sent to the driver when you print.  If the print shows as 2.35 x 3.35 on the Live View, that's the exact size that is being sent to the driver.  If you get any size other than the size listed on the Live View, the driver is modifying the size internally (something no software can control outside of the driver).

What you should do is click the "Properties" button on the Printers and Settings tab and look through the driver and you'll likely find that there is a "Reduce/Enlarge" option checked.  Sometimes this reduce/enlarge gets activated automatically when you set other options in the driver.  For example, on an Epson, if you choose anything other than "Same as Paper Size" for the output paper option, it activates reduce/enlarge and you won't get the sizes you ordered.

What type of printer are we talking about here?

Regards,
Mike

Thanks, just checked and the Enlarge checkbox in the printer driver was checked.  Not sure how that got that way but just did a test print and all is well.

OK, sounds good.  I'm not a fan of how the Epson drivers "lead" customers into that pothole.  I often get people who set their paper size to the size they are using (say 17x22) and then they set the "Output paper" to the same size (17x22).  Makes sense from a user standpoint, right?  But no... when you do that, it activates reduce/enlarge.  What they don't tell you is that whatever paper size you use, the printable area is somewhat less than that so when you pick the same size in "Output paper", the driver tries to do things like force 17x22 into a 16.16 x20.67 printable area.  I wish they would at least put a warning in there when the user selects something like that rather than just checking the reduce/enlarge checkbox for you.

Hi, new here, hope I'm posting this in the right place.
Have Elements 15 running on Win10 on an Alienware laptop.
Downloaded Qimage v2017.128. Installed.
Downloaded plug ins. Installed.
Opened Elements, opened a picture, opened automate, clicked on Qimage Ultimate, Elements crashed hard.
After several tries with the same results I deleted Qimage and plug ins and reinstalled them. No change, still crashes Elements.
Am I doing something wrong? Does Qimage not play well with Elements 15? Win10?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Cliff, no negative reports from any Elements users.
Do you get any crash messages  when it happens to Elements?
Fred

PS. Maybe try a reinstall of Elements. Might have a corrupted file, and also, try a simple jpg as a test. Might be a problem with some particular image.

Hello Cliff

Being a mean / tight old sod I am still on Elements 7 so do not have it as a plug in to Qimage.

Only use Elements occasionally for extensive cloning and or cropping out an image section to paste into another image say with better background.

I just get QImage to create a tiff and open that in elements no problems other than having to learn Elements each time.
