Does this choice "Print Unclog Pattern" provide the versatility of selecting the type of Photo Paper (Glossy for example) so to use the Photo Black ink for printing the Unclog Pattern.
I just finished using this setting and the Black appears that it was printed using Matte Black ink --- NOT Photo Black

Likewise, if the above is correct, -- selecting Matte (or normal paper) would select to use the Matte Black ink for printing.

I am using Qimage Ultimate with PC and Epson R800 Printer which (of course) has provisions for selecting type of Black in based on type of paper selected

Yes.  Because the unclog pattern allows you to set any and all printer driver options, all you have to do is create one unclog setup for matte paper and one for glossy paper.  Then the matte setup will use matte black and the glossy setup will use photo black.  If you are using the scheduler, you could add both of those setups to your scheduler so that it prints both (one with matte black and one with photo black) at each time interval.
