Before I hear a collective gasp, let me explain. I purchased Qimage back in July, 2000. I’ve upgraded to Pro, Studio, Ultimate, and have paid my renewal fee each year. I didn’t need the editing features but I wanted to support development and $20/year is very reasonable. I think it is, hands down, the BEST way to print. When I switched from a Windows pc to a mac, I purchased Parallels so that I could continue to print with QU. However, I have never really used the editing features, prefering to use Lightroom, Photoshop, and recently Affinity Photo for my editing, although having to export from Lightroom and open in QU under windows was a little tedious, (but worth the time!). So I was very pleasantly surprised to learn about Qimage One, which is available for both Windows and Mac platforms. Being able to edit in my preferred app and hand off directly to Q1 is WONDERFUL!!! Since Mike is behind it I knew that it would produce great prints easily. I tried the demo for a few hours and purchased it. I expect that new features will be added regularly, although as it is it suits me just fine! For now, I’ll keep Ultimate installed but I suspect that I won’t be firing up Windows very often. Thanks Mike and Andrew!! Well done.

I too have just purchased Qimage One  and I'm interested how you use it Affinity Photos.  So far I'm pleased with the results I've gotten with Qimage and was wondering if you export your finished edits from Affinity Photo as TIFF's or some other format to be used by Qimage, or is there a more direct way?  I use an iMac 27" running OS X 10.12.6 (Sierra) and I like Affinity Photo.  I'm printing to a Canon Pixma Pro-100.  Thanks

Yes, I export tiffs from Affinity Photo and print in Qimage One. I emailed Q1 support about being able to hand off from AF to Q1 (like Lightroom and Photoshop do) and Andrew said they looked into it but there does not seem to be a way. He has reached out to Serif (publisher of Affinity Photo) but has not heard back yet. I do most of my raw developing in Lightroom and use AF for the images that need work that can't be done in LR. Having my whole workflow on the mac instead of having to run Windows just to use Qimage Ultimate for printing is fantastic! And the support for Q1 is really great.

Thanks for your reply. That’s exactly what I do as well.  I never used Qimage Ultimate so I’m still learning about what can done with Qimage One and how to best incorporate it into my workflow.  So far I’ve been pleased with Qimage One, but I’m sure I’m still not taking the fullest advantage of all its features.

Don’t let the simplicity of Q1 fool you. The quality of the prints from Qimage Ultimate and Qimage One are second to none. They have the best printing output of anything out there. QU has great raw processing, the ability to add edits to other formats without changing the original image, and way too many features to list. But for printing only on a mac, you can’t beat Q1! My workflow became WAY simpler now!
