I just downloaded the version and did a quick test with the unclog tool.
The display of my Epson 4900 shows an consumption of 0.3 ml, with the old version 0.5 ml. So modulo rounding it ist half the ink.
To see whether it is more effective I have to observe it for some weeks, since normally do an unclog cycle ervery sunday.

Could be closer to half than those numbers would indicate too, since I assume .3 and .5 are also rounded. For all we know, the actual numbers could have been .26ml for the new and .54 for the old.
