New to Qimage and still confused.  If I wish to print a .25 inch white border ( on say 5x7 paper) with an Image truly centered to the paper is their an easy way.
So, Intellicenter does NOT seem to take into account the uneven borders on a Canon Pro 1000.  So to get it 100% centered I am going to:
MENUEDITPREFERENCESPRINT & PAGE FORMATINGPAGE MARGINS and subtracting the fixed non-printable area with the Additional ADD on to set my image size and have a .25 border around the print.  Is this the proper method?

My info is from this video: https://www.youtube.com/embed/p-22y2wfzI4
"Qimage Ultimate - Centering Photos on the Printed Page"

Thanks!

Please give more details. Paper size = 5 x 7?
Print size = ??
Print size to include border?

I have the Pro 1000 driver
I have an image set to print a 5 x 7, but printable area on a 5 x 7 paper for that printer is 6.685 x 4.731
It is centered within .01 of an inch.
Fill me in.
You can add a border with even widths all around or customize widths on sides and top and bottom.

Hi again,
I wish to simply have a white border of .25 inches on all sides, just like the prints from the drug store can have…  I can crop to fit

Please give more details.      Paper size = 5 x 7
                                          Image size = 4.5 x 6.5
Print size to include border?  NO, Total Border each side = .25
I choose Fit to Paper
Page size shows 4.5 x 6.5
My borders are set via the screen shot included….

So yes, I have this working and centering to paper.  I just wish to know if this is the most efficient way...

I would not get into that special margin override screen. You are making the job difficult for no reason.
Open the driver and set paper size to 5 x 7. Select print size to 5 x 7 with crop scissor on.
You get a print of 6.68 x 4.73.
Then, see screen snap,. simply type in 0.25 in first white border box. (Make sure you have selected the print so it takes)
Now I have: same size print, with 1/4 inch borders around it.
If you use this 1/4 inch border set up very ofter, I will tell you how to automate.

IntelliCenter does take into account any uneven borders and it will center perfectly on the paper.  If it doesn't, one of these three things must be true:

(1) Your paper isn't exactly 5x7 inches
(2) Your printer isn't loading the paper perfectly
(3) You don't have enough printable area to center the print.

BTW the easiest way to print with a 1/4 inch border is to use the "Specify One Dimension" option:

(1) When selecting a size, select "Custom" from the size list.
(2) Select "Specify ONE dimension".
(3) Enter your .25 inch size
(4) Select "This is the PAPER BORDER".

Regards,
Mike
