I guess I am no longer needed.
I really do have 60 printer drivers in my computer, and recognized in Qimage. Why you ask?
Because over the years most all questions, and complaints that I would get revolved around print size and "My color is different in Qimage from Lightroom. The reds look like orange or pink....   etc etc.
I would install the driver so I could accurately  assess and correct their settings.
I only have 3 printers, but Qimage thinks I have 60.
Now, with the new Qimage 127 with Driver Artificial Intelligence, I am no longer needed.
Even the size corrections are no longer needed as AI disables the scaling in the driver for you.
Imagine how many emails Mike gets with the same problems to make him create the Driver AI system.
Kudos Mike

a question for mike. if i change the print resolution using the new setting, should it reflect in the driver?
my printer canon pr2100.

when i change it the driver does not change but i can change it in the driver

maybe a better question is the printer resolution vs the qimage interpolation, are they one and the same

They are not the same: one is PPI and the other affects DPI.  Qimage's resolution is the driver resolution: PPI that will be sent to the driver.  The driver's "quality" setting is the final DPI and dot pattern that the printer uses.  It's the same reason your printer has both a native PPI (for the driver) and a native DPI (for the paper).  Most Epson printers are 5760x1440 DPI for example but you can tweak that with the "Quality" setting in the driver.  Once you do that, the driver will then request 720 PPI for the higher quality settings, 360 for the lower ones, etc.  For Canons, most of them run at either 4800x2400 DPI or 2400x1200 DPI yet they typically request 600 PPI from the driver.

Qimage can't set the internal driver "Quality" setting because that setting varies by printer and media type: some media types don't even have a "High" quality setting!  And others have "High" and "Highest" while others have an added one called "Best".  Qimage also can't assume you want the highest quality in the driver and can only make a suggestion: what if you wanted your printer to print faster because you are printing proofs so you actually want "Standard" quality?

No.  HP drivers are not even built to communicate properly with Windows much less other software.  They don't allow any control at all outside the driver.
