Mike Title: Re: v2023.104 issues/comments Post by: Jojakim on October 31, 2022, 12:56:35 PM I've had an odd issue the first time in end of August and later last week, i believe both on v2023.xxx. When printing a very large image of 200x150cm on the Canon iPF-9400 it was printed in mirror. In a rush I 'solved' the issue by flipping the file in Photoshop thinking it was some kind of weird file bug. . But when seeing it again with a 200x150cm file, I figured it has something to do with size. Apart from that I have made prints from for instance 230 x 130cm without a problem.
A second issue, which actually had been a bug for many years, but still in this version: a TIF file which has 'Save image pyramid' enabled (https://community.adobe.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/387502i77EB9E02079C78BF/image-size/medium/is-moderation-mode/true?v=v2&px=400) will not be placed in the true size in Qimage, but much larger than defined. This bug had been popping up more often lately, as Topaz Gigapixel for some reason chooses to export TIF files with the Image Pyramid enabled. It took my quite a while to pinpoint this issue the first time. If the image looks correct in Qimage's live view but prints mirrored, the driver is mirroring it and therefore this is not a Qimage issue. Look for a mirror option in the driver settings. Sometimes certain paper types can cause this too, like transfer sheet media type. In any case, you need to fix this in the driver but Qimage also has a mirror option in the image editor FYI. It took my quite a while to pinpoint this issue the first time. I don't know whether this is a bug, idiosyncrasy, or otherwise. Qimage uses a standard embedded size reading when dealing with TIFFs so I suppose if PS is saving a bunch of different resolutions in the TIFF file, it would depend on which one (which resolution version) it is marking as the primary. I don't see any reason to store a bunch of different resolutions because they are just going to inflate the file size without much benefit to other software that are not photo editors which can select individual TIFF pages... so might as well just turn it off. Of course this is the first thing I looked for and mirror was not enabled in the driver. A preceding and following print on smaller size would print normal. The preview in Qimage was not mirrored either. One other thing I can think of is Windows 11 causing it, as I believe the 9400 driver hasnt been updated since 2021. Quote I don't see any reason to store a bunch of different resolutions because they are just going to inflate the file size without much benefit to other software that are not photo editors which can select individual TIFF pages... so might as well just turn it off. I would never deliberately turn on this mode but as some clients and/or software do enable this, it is something I have to deal with every now and then. Anyway I figured it's good to be aware of this issue as it is not an obvious thing to look for and I've spent some time to track it down. It could help other people.Title: Re: v2023.104 issues/comments Post by: admin on October 31, 2022, 04:27:31 PM I suppose it could be some sort of bug in the driver related to Windows 11. Since Qimage sends it to the driver un-mirrored and it ends up mirrored, it'd have to be a driver bug since you verified mirror wasn't enabled in the driver.

When I try the same thing on the 9400 here using the print preview, the print preview looks fine: not mirrored. See attached. I printed at 60x80 inches which I believe is close to the equivalent of the size you were using.

I just tried it, but the 200x150cm@300dpi file would not preview ('insufficient memory resources...' on AMD 7700x 8-core with 64GB ram). My screenshot above was using a 203x152cm@300PPI image (24000x18000 pixels). And I had print resolution set to the highest 600 PPI. Print preview came up fine. AMD Ryzen 9 3900x with 32GB RAM. Maybe that's a clue: something on your system appears to not be working properly. Could be the driver, Windows spooler, etc. Mike Title: Re: v2023.104 issues/comments Post by: Mikoyan on November 02, 2022, 10:36:34 AM Hello from France,
Since version 103 (or 102 I don't remember exactly), I can't print with my Epson P900. On the display or the P900, I read : "receiving data..." and nothing happens. I can print with Photoshop without problem. Windows 10, latest driver and firmware of the P900. I have tried to reinstall the drivers and Qimage, same problem... What is happening ?
