I finally have a printer for which Qimage is needed so I've taken the plunge. The online help is stuck at version 2012.100 and obviously way out of date. Is there anything more current? I don't like to think that I'm going to have to come to the forum with a ton of noob questions like where is area 4 and why is the "+" button turning blue instead of green?

Thanks in advance - Chuck B

Hi Chuck,
A good place to start are the help videos here
http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/learn.htm
Also accessible from the Help menu, which by the way, is still relevant to many features.
Where you see a little V in a Red circle in QU, there's a help video available.
I don't the latest UI with separate tabs is covered but there's enough in the videos to get you going, just not what there is in each of the tabs.
Which printer did you buy?

My printer is the pixma ix6820. It's not a pro printer but it has enough reviewer pluses that it should suit my purposes as long as I use Qimage.

I've already started watching the videos. I'm sure I'll get there, but it's disappointing to see the hard docs so out of date. Knowing where to push the buttons on the GUI is important. I feel like someone who has traded his 1956 Fairlane for a Prius and can't find the keyhole.

Yeah, it's kinda like ditching the key for a start button like most modern cars.  We're phasing out the old written help with in-line video buttons.  We find that most people learn more easily (and it sticks longer) when they can see how it's done rather than reading textual descriptions.  There are still some technical details in the written help like how to make cutouts and masks but for the most part, just keep that key in your pocket and press those red "v" buttons.  Wink
