Title: White Balance dropper in Raw Refine results in green image Post by: wolverine@MSU on August 18, 2014, 11:15:58 AM I bring up the raw refine screen for a particular image (snap 1 below), click on the White Balance Dropper, hover over patch 10 on the gray scale at the bottom of the image (which is pretty close to neutral already:131,132,129), and click the dropper. The white balance is adjusted, but gives the result shown in snap 2 below. This happens on two different computers running QU v2014.250 and several different RAW files tested.

Version 24 had some improvements made to the raw WB dropper process but you should be ok with v250.I have checked with some IT8 images I have and there is no problem at all on any of the grey patches -,have you tried other grey patches or other images? I have to agree with Terry The only Raw target shot I have is an X rite. You have an old Kodak Q target. Any chance the target is damaged or faded.? Xrite target Before White Bakance After White Balance. I think I see the problem. I couldn't read it too well on my screen so I saved it here. Opened in Examiner in Qimage There's a line that says ISO and then Pushed to That number is way out of whack! Looks like 1,190,240 Wait for Mike. OK I think we have a handle on it, now. It took me a while to find a couple of Raw Fuji S9000 image to download. I got some finally. They all turn green when trying to do a WB in refine. DCRAW did not cover that camera including all the features of the Raw. You can still do any White Balance in the Editor screen. Must be a newer version of DCRAW somewhere along the line because when I use QU v2014.127 WB dropper works fine. In fact it looks like the problem starts somewhere between 2014.240, which works OK, and 2014.250 where the "green monster" takes over.
Thanks Fred. Title: Re: White Balance dropper in Raw Refine results in green image Post by: Fred A on August 18, 2014, 05:18:07 PM Right on...
Version 240 got a new MSDCRAW.dll and 243 got a new MSDCRAW.dll Fred Title: Re: White Balance dropper in Raw Refine results in green image Post by: admin on August 18, 2014, 10:00:01 PM Try v2014.254 just released. It should fix the problem.

I know it fixed the "green" White Balance problem on your Fuji raws, but you will have to tell us if your locking problem went away too. Cannot repeat that one no matter what I try.
