Hi. I need some help!  Smiley
 I'm trying to specify print width x height (24wx26h), printing from a much smaller, rectangular landscape image (think 10wx5h).
Locking the orientation to force the direction of height.
Allowing crop/fit to size.

It doesn't matter what dimension I type first, ie, 26x24 or 24x26, the result is a 26"w x 24" tall. Over and over again. It doesn't matter if I unlock the orientation. Same result.

v. 2020.109, win10.

What am I missing?

How wide is the roll?  Also, just be aware that on some sizes and printers, the W and H buttons reverse themselves. So if you want to change the screen view, and you want portrait, you might try the Landscape button.

Thanks for the reply! The roll is 36" wide. I set the height to 28".  I didn't think about the printer settings. Changing the printer settings from portrait to landscape (while it changes the orientation of the paper in the screen) does nothing to get the correct dimensions of the image on the paper.  I am getting a warning about the paper being wider than it is tall, but we often print with that situation.
The image is sized to the correct dimensions, but the height stays 24", while the width goes to 26". I really just want the height to be 26"! Smiley

You could click on the print on the live view and then on the Prints tab, click the rotate button under the print sizes to rotate the print 90 degrees.  If that doesn't work, it means that you don't have enough height (paper length) to fit 26".  Take a look at the page size reported over the live view: does that indicate you have at least 26 inches on the height?  If not, your printer may require more than an inch of margin top/bottom and you may have to increase the length to do it: try 29 or 30 inches instead of 28 if that's the case.

Okay.... trying this!  I previously had this set to 36wx28h, borderless printing. The paper is 36wide.

Changed my paper size in the printer to 36x30, still borderless. Experiencing the same thing re final print image area 24" tall. Another curiosity experienced that I don't quite understand -- using the left rotate button will rotate the image 180. Using the right rotate button has no effect on the image.

solving this for today's deadline by changing the image print size to 26x26.
Curiously, this allows BOTH the right and left rotate arrows to rotate 90 degrees per click, as expected.  (whether it's a 36x28 or a 36x30 paper size selection)

I think there is some confusion here caused by multiple definition of the term orientation.

Specifically, are you talking about the orientation of the print relative to the page, or the orientation of the frame relative to the picture (i.e., deciding whether the aspect ratio of the picture itself is landscape or portrait)? If you are talking about the latter, you change that by selecting the photo in the page editor and clicking the rotate check box underneath the crop window.

Maybe I am misreading, but that is what I thought you were after.

Let's go through everything on the main window in one response.  Take a look at the attached:

(1) First, check the page size (printable area) on the attached screen shot.  For you to be able to rotate a 24x26 inch print freely using the rotate buttons, the page size must be a minimum of 26 x 26 inches.  If either of the two dimensions shown is less than 26 inches, the print will only fit on the page one way and you will not be able to rotate it (except by 180 degrees).

(2) Make sure your image placement is set to IntelliSpace (or IntelliCenter) so QU will pick the best orientation to start and then you can rotate prints freely afterward.

(3) Make sure the image lock button is not pressed so it doesn't try to lock the orientation of the print.

Technically as long as you do (1), you can rotate a print as you like in 90 degree increments using the rotate buttons under the print sizes, but (2) and (3) just makes things easier for automatic placement.  Note: make sure you click on the print to select it (selected prints have a blue border as pictured) before clicking the rotate buttons.

If you still have trouble rotating after doing this, please post a screen shot of your settings: same section of the screen I posted here.
