Hello All

Oh dear, Oh dear. in a in a right old mess on all fronts.

After a complete computer failure, I got new one with win 11 and am rebuilding from all the back up and old disks

Got Qimage installed and I am re working some old images.

Tweaking some old Raws I keep getting error message -

C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage\redo.ses could not be saved.  Write access denied.

Is it some thing covered in - Utilities - Manage Disk Usage?

This is just one of many problems.

Jeff

Did you run the installer to install QU or did you copy/restore it from a backup?  In any case, try running the QU installer again.  The installer takes care of permissions in that folder.  If you get the same message, manually delete that redo.ses file (if one exists) using File Explorer.  This sort of thing can happen when restoring files: file permissions/ownership get messed up.

Other than that, the only other thing that can cause a similar problem is Norton AV: Norton has a disturbing new trend where they try to deny access to the ProgramData folder.  Guess they think the ProgramData folder is for something other than... well... program data!

Hello Mike

I did a new install.  Start again with a clean sheet I thought.

Problem went away and all well for a time, then returned last thing yesterday.

Just done a quick test and all OK again.

I will sit with fingers crossed for now.

I 'think' the new comp. has got BullGard installed but I cannot find where they have hidden it.

Regards

Jeff

I believe this issue is related to the fact that Qimage installer does not permit non-administrators to run the program. Try running as an administrator account and these types of errors don't appear. This is a criticism I have with the installer and way the program is designed to run. Don't go blaming AV programs for a problem with your installation!

All went well for a time then problem returned and got much worse with total lock ups requiring a three finger action and restart.

Yesterday I did a re install and now all well again.

Sitting with fingers crossed.

"Spraying" this same message in every new thread does not make it true: you can easily install as a non-admin and run it as a non-admin.  Refer to my answer in the other 3 threads where you made the same complaint.
