I'm back. I was on a paper "tasting"* binge, and while the printer was running I went back and re-searched through the collection of Qimage video tutorials I've downloaded, which is where I think I found the info that there was no need to install the XPS driver.
Is there anything to be gained by installing the Canon-supplied updated XPS driver? Or should I just leave well enough alone?
Hi George.
Let me ask a question first.
Look at the two screen snaps attached
Both drivers installed together.
I select the Pro 100 driver.
Is yours like that?
No. As seen on my screenshots, I do have the Microsoft XPS driver, but I think that has to do only with docs. The Canon XPS driver download is completely separate from the regular Canon driver, and has to be installed separately.
Ah, see, in my apparently deteriorating mind, I thought it was the opposite! Truly.
I had found that, but I really think I saw it in a video -- erm, heard it. I'm going to keep looking, maybe. Printing is much more fun!
I know I could just install the bloody driver, but if I don't gain anything, then I'd prefer not to do it.
Thanks for help Fred, if I do find that video (assuming it actually exists), I'll post an update. In the meantime I won't install the Canon XPS driver.
