HP Z3200-PS, Windows 7. I am familiar with the fact that if I add a new media preset to my list of media presets that I can not trust QU job data taken from the log to repeat that job. So I reset in QU the driver data to the default after I have loaded a recalled job. I check if everything is correct, media presets correspond in both QU's and the driver's interface. Profile correctly corresponding too.
This time I added the media preset HFA Photo Rag Metallic. Calibrated, printed targets, profiled , synchronised media presets, all from HP Color Center. Job done. Changed the roll to German Etching, recalled a job from the log file. Reset the driver in QU 2019.100 / 104 to the driver defaults, set the media preset correct, then the profile back. Mismatch between QU and driver interface on the media preset, QU says Photorag, Driver says German Etching. Correct it in QU's interface to German Etching and QU's driver icon shows something is wrong. Go there and that is correct, something is wrong. Go back and forth with different media preset settings, back to default, system power off, QU version switch but nothing helps. Only solution is taking out a custom media preset from the driver that is the least often used.
Probably Qimage does not cover as many media presets as the driver can or it counts backwards instead of forward if the media preset identity goes by numbers. I guess the answer will be non-Windows compatibility of the HP driver.
BTW, if I reset the driver to its default in Qimage Ultimate with whatever choice, all/printer/current, I also loose my Cut Marks setting. Something that is going on for some time already. I do not understand why that is needed in relation to the driver and it has been really annoying when the image has no straight edges on that print but is an amorphous shape free floating in white (art print). Two shapes now floating in white on an expensive paper. Have to look it up in Edit Page where the two 50x65 cm pieces sit on that sheet of 66,6 cm long by 44" roll width.
Met vriendelijke groet, Ernst
