Hello.

I am a new member i live in the UK NE area i would really like to print some long Pano images but stuggle to get the custom sizes i would like.

I bought a Canon 9000 pro printer that will with the front loaded let me print sizes up to 23'' long. What i was hoping i could do was buy roll paper and cut lengths off and print longer than 23''. This is for Pano images. My problem when i try to set custom print size in printer driver it only lets me set 23'' is there a way qimage can let me print longer images on 1 image no joins please. I have for the moment down loaded the trial version while i see if longer printing can be done.
Many Thanks

I doubt if the 9000 will be able to print longer images.
It has no roll paper provision, and that means no banner mode.
The only thing Qimage could do for you in this case is to print a poster consisting of multiple sheets. Each sheet would hold a portion of the print.
Then you would have to butt the prints and paste them together into one large one.

Here's the instructions from the Help file.
I doubt if it is what you are shooting for, but you really need a printer that can use roll paper.

Fred

Example 6: Printing a Multi Page Poster of a Single Image (in this example, printing a 2 page by 2 page poster for a total of 4 pages)

Click the "Image Fitting" button on the "Size" tab just below the preview page. Make sure that the button is depressed/on. This tells Qimage that it is ok to crop some of your images in order to obtain exact print sizes. Optional: turn crop off to ensure that the entire image is printed instead.
Make sure that the "Image Lock" button under the preview page is not depressed (unlocked). This tells Qimage that it is ok to automatically rotate your images to obtain the best fit inside the frame size.
Click the "Landscape" tool button to orient the printed page in landscape format.
Navigate to a folder that contains images using the folder browser directly above the thumbnails/file names on the main window. If the folder browsing panel above the thumbnails is not visible, you can show the panel by clicking on the blue bar labeled "Folders" above the thumbnail grid. When you have selected a folder that contains your images using the folder browser, the images/file names in that folder will display under the folder tree.
Optional: You can hide the folder browser by clicking again on the blue bar labeled "Folders" if you like in order to have more room for viewing thumbnails.
Select one or more thumbnails in the thumbnail area using the standard Windows multi-select functions of Ctrl-mouse click or Shift-mouse click.
Click the size dropdown in the "Print Properties" panel and select "Custom".
Click the "Enter poster rows/columns" radio button on the left side of the window.
In the right panel, enter "2" in both the "pages across" and "pages down" edit boxes.
Click "OK" and image(s) will be added as 2x2 page posters.
 Click the "Print" tool button.

Hi Fred

Thank you so much for the detailed reply.

I had found the join print option and may consider that but my concern is the join, I have a funny feeling it would always bug me.

Again many thanks

Try one!
I have seen a life size poster of a person. It was 5'5" inches tall. It wasn't meant to be viewed from 6" away from the paper.
You never saw the joints.

Probably be very good. My friend used 8.5 x 11 paper.
Try it on plain paper as a test run if you don't want to spoil your special paper.
