Strange. I compared my advice with Fred's graphics and the only difference I saw was Fred has his orientation set to Landscape (which I don't understand why).
On the lower right section of the QImage window is Print Properties. The white window below that is for your image size assignable through the drop down arrow on the window' right. Select 11 x 14 there.
In the Canon printer's driver (not QI) is where you set your paper size from a drop down box. 11 x 14 is NOT one of the choice so use a larger paper size.

Actually, your post was better than mine. You recognized that Pops was in Studio version probably because he posted in the Qimage Category and not the Ultimate.
Your directions were spot on for QSE, and mine were screen snaps from Ultimate.
You were right on target, but I sensed there was some item askew.
In talking to POPS on the telephone, it became evident that he got some bad advice from a reply post on a different forum.
He really doesn't have A3 paper.
As you pointed out the 9000 doesn't allow an 11 x 14 paper size. (I couldn't believe it)
The advice he got was to try to fool the 9000 by telling it that he had A3 paper. He had 11 x 14 paper.!!
The Canon balked at that and spit out his paper.
The fix was to make a Custom paper size in the driver, telling it you had 11 x 14 paper.
Now it was happy, and the rest was easy.
Pops was right on top of all the settings, including the driver settings and the profile for the paper set in Qimage.
We walked through Fit to Page and the crop scissors, and the rest was waiting for the print to come out of his printer, and the subsequent squeals of joy.

You had the same information that I came up with, orientation was just a flip of the coin, meant nothing, of course.
