Hi,
This is my first post and I just joined this forum partly because I am software limited and old and I need help to alter my printers output hopefully.
I want to be able to print photos 11.00 X 14.00" wide however my printer driver will not let me and every time I think I have it right my printer spits my paper out say my paper size A3 is wrong. I know that it is the wrong size but I don't know how to fool my printer into printing the size I want. My printing paper is Red River Artic Polar Gloss and I have the ICC profiles however I am not sure that they are working.
I would appreciate any help I can get and I am not in a big hurry except that I'm up there in age so maybe somewhat of a hurry.
Thanks, Pops

On the lower right section of the QImage window is Print Properties. The white window below that is for your image size assignable through the drop down arrow on the window' right. Select 11 x 14 there.
In the Canon printer's driver (not QI) is where you set your paper size from a drop down box. 11 x 14 is NOT one of the choice so use a larger paper size.

Hi Pops,
Just to make any screen snaps accurate, what version of Qimage are you running?

Here are the driver settings for the 9000 Canon, A3 paper, and the selection of 11 x 14 print size from the Qimage Ultimate print properties box.

See snaps

More to follow.

Hi Fred,
Thanks for your reply and help. I am running Qimage v2010.210, Studio version and if I can do what I want to do easier I would purchase the latest Ultimate version but I'm not sure that would help as I am completely overwhelm by the version I have and at my age I seem to lose more memory each day.
Hopefully you can help so that I can enjoy my experience with Qimage.

I just got through a wonderful learning session from Fred A who talked me through using Qimage and my Canon Pro 9000 II so that I could print specific sizes namely 11 X 14" .
I can not praise Fred enough ( thank you very much Fred ) for his knowledge of what I wanted and in using Qimage the way it was developed to use.
If you are a novice then you will be very fortunate if you get Freds help if you are having a problem with Qimage and in helping me he also helped me by explaing Qimage Ultimate which I hadn't looked at but shall upgrade to.
Thanks Fred, Pops

Qimage did the work. You had it all except for one small boo boo.
I just pointed you in the right direction.
Enough with the accolades.!!
I am growing wings and can't sit in my chair.  Smiley Cheesy Grin

Was my pleasure, POPS

Tell them about the results you got.

Welcome to Qimage and the forums, Pops (although you can't be that much older than me!).  Fred & Terry have provided invaluable help to me and many others.  As I've said before, can you believe that these forums are free?

And indeed, help spread the word about Qimage.  Mike can always use a few more customers.

Actually fred has some part of a year on me in age and after our session my print came out exactly as I wanted and that makes me want to use up my ink supply and then my SS check.

Strange. I compared my advice with Fred's graphics and the only difference I saw was Fred has his orientation set to Landscape (which I don't understand why).

Hi Jerry,
Actually, your post was better than mine. You recognized that Pops was in Studio version probably because he posted in the Qimage Category and not the Ultimate.
Your directions were spot on for QSE, and mine were screen snaps from Ultimate.
You were right on target, but I sensed there was some item askew.
In talking to POPS on the telephone, it became evident that he got some bad advice from a reply post on a different forum.
He really doesn't have A3 paper.
As you pointed out the 9000 doesn't allow an 11 x 14 paper size. (I couldn't believe it)
The advice he got was to try to fool the 9000 by telling it that he had A3 paper. He had 11 x 14 paper.!!
The Canon balked at that and spit out his paper.
The fix was to make a Custom paper size in the driver, telling it you had 11 x 14 paper.
Now it was happy, and the rest was easy.
Pops was right on top of all the settings, including the driver settings and the profile for the paper set in Qimage.
We walked through Fit to Page and the crop scissors, and the rest was waiting for the print to come out of his printer, and the subsequent squeals of joy.

That was Pops' reply to your post.
I sensed frustration in that one.

So I jumped in to try to find out what it was.
.I didn't mean to step on toes, really.
You had the same information that I came up with, orientation was just a flip of the coin, meant nothing, of course.

Thanks, Jerry

No offense taken. You are a gem, Fred. What would the QI community do without you?
