I'm considering upgrading from the QImage Pro version to Studio, and can't find info on the upgrade path.
Could someone point me in the right direction, please.
Thanks

Nowhere on that page does it say anything about upgrading from Pro to Studio.

Sorry, I misread your request.

I cannot find an upgrade price either. Perhaps, that was dropped in favor of lowering the Studio price about 14% to 79.95.

You could go the extra step & buy Qimage Ultimate and be future proofed as far as features are concerned.

We ran the trade-up program for more than three years where you could pay the price difference to switch Qimage editions.  In addition to the offer being listed on the web site, we also sent emails to the entire list of Lite/Pro edition users more than once advising of the limited time offer.  Of course, due to the nature of the email, spam filters probably loved eating those so not sure if you saw it.

Bottom line: we discontinued the trade-up offers in July with the release of Qimage Ultimate.  The main reason for that is that the functionality of Lite/Pro/Studio is "locked" and we don't want users switching between editions any more now that Qimage Ultimate is available.  We want to encourage people to go with the new product rather than spend money on older editions where upgrades are limited.  The incentive now is that for $10 more than the older Studio version, you can have Ultimate and free upgrades for one year.  The $20 a year after that goes to our development and is how you'll be seeing so many new features in Ultimate as time goes by.

Hmm. OK, Thanks.
I really only wanted it for automatic file name-linked watermarking of event photos, rather than manually adding floating text to each batch.

BTW, that link was made up by me - the one in the function list points to albums instead.

I don't believe the watermark feature does auto name linked water marks, it is just a cutout with text "proof" across it. The copyright mark is similar, it is meant to be of your own design and you can have as many as you like but cannot link to a file name.

You can link to a file name with Floating Text and if your event photos are a few fixed sizes, then a templates could be made with linked Floating text so the process is automatic.
I would still recommend Q-U for the reasons already explained above.

Aha! That's exactly what I need.  They're all full-page 10x8, so a template will do the job perfectly.

Thanks.

I am also disappointed I don't have the opportunity to upgrade from Pro to Studio anymore.  I did receive emails from DDI offering $40 upgrade, but nothing that said it was limited. I also got the ultimate announcement on 7/24, so not sure if spam filters were the issue.
Anyway the only reasons I wanted it was for ruler and using quad processing.  I don't use RAW.
I was at the few months before Ultimate announcement reviewing threads about the benefits of Studio and talking w/my wife about spending the $40.  Then it just went away when I was on the verge of upgrading.  $90 is over budget for me today - I am not upgrading any SW in the near term, just saving for ink which I have to watch carefully.
Anyway I respect Mike's business and appreciate the support over the years.  Maybe someday I will be able to justify and spend to upgrade to Ultimate (in line lens correction including fish-eye correction would be a selling point for me!) , but until then I will just use what I have.
