I normally use only roll paper with my Epson 7900, and sheets in my R2400. But this weekend I wanted to print calendar pages to 8.5x11 sheets with my 7900 to take advantage of the much less expensive ink.

So I added images to the queue with centered layout and it looked centered in the preview window and in the full page editor. However, the images were not centered on the paper in the 11" axis. (landscape paper orientation)

Skipping ahead, what I found was that the left margin showed 0.39" in the full page editor, with 0.83" for the right margin. Clicking the center button in the full page editor changed the margins to 0.61" for both left and right. That moves the preview image to the right making it look uncentered. But the resulting print is indeed centered.

This is with Epson 7900, QImage Studio, 8.5x11 paper, and Windows 7. Page size for the paper is reported as 10.333x8.266, and the image size in the queue is 9.80" wide.

Any idea what is going on? Why do I have to manually center each print using the full page editor's center button? Why does the print preview not show what is printed?

OK Tom. I had posted that YOU had something wrong. I take it back!!
I can repeat your numbers, all of them.
I did a RESET printer and now I match.
I must have had some weird setting from a previous instance of trying to help.

OK The fix for you is to use MARGINS and click the button that says Center on Physical Page.
That will make the prints come out centered even though they look off on screen.
The problem is that certain Epson printers reserve .55 inches of non printable space on the right side of a landscape screen.
The Margins settings over rides this.

Sorry to have led you astray.

Thanks Fred. I didn't see your first post, so no chance of leading me astray.

I have a vague recollection of seeing Center on physical page mentioned in the past. But it didn't apply to me at the time and I promptly forgot about it.

After setting that option everything works as expected.
