I'm new user of Qimage.  Running a Epson 9900, win 7.  I can get qimage to do what I want for ganging prints, sizes,etc. But, I am using roll paper and I don't understand how to create custom size?  I choose the Super B0, but that gives me a specific length.  Sometimes I want to be shorter but with same width.  How do I do that?  Is that in qimage or in my Epson driver?  If my Epson driver at what point do I make those settings and where? Thanks

If it's like the 9800 printer, you need to get to USER DEFINED size in your driver.

A good friend, Terry, an excellent contributor to the forum, suggested that I mention that Qimage will allow you to save your entire printer setup so you can use it again without redoing the User Defined paper size every time, or any paper size.
It will save the paper size, print size, printer profile, crop on or off, portrait or landscape, print placement on the page and many other attributes.
When you completed a successful print just the way you like, simply click FILE SAVE, click the "P" button for Printer, name it (44 x 12 glossy (example)) and SAVE
Next time you want to make a similar print, simply do FILE, RECALL, Click the "P" button, and select the printer setup you want, and OPEN.

ok, that was really helpful!  I see that it works instantly in qimage! Now I am on a search for figuring out icc profiles for the printer and the paper that I am using.  I have to go through the faq and see if I can find an answer.  I am profiled for my monitor with x-rite, but for some reason it doesn't want to profile the printer?  Not sure what I am supposed to do/

Hi, welcome to the forum & the world of Qimage,
I know Fred won't mind me coming in here, we often bat stuff around despite being a few  k miles apart.
Most paper manufactures do now provide profiles for their paper, usually based on the original ink (Epson in your case) inks, so check their web site.
These "canned" profiles are usually very good, possibly not quite as good as a professionally made custom profile but a good start.
Which X-rite model & software do you have? To profile a printer, you have to print a special target, scan it with the spectrophotometer device (eg. X-rite) and then use the calibration software to make a profile.
Perhaps your X-rite device is for monitors only, please tell us more.

To set up colour management in Qimage, use Edit\Preferences\Color Management, and set your driver, from within Qimage (top right of main screen, 3rd icon from right), to No Color Adjustment, see attached screen shots.
NB. Qimage can save Print Set-ups to recall the pages size, paper type etc. etc. all in one go.

Ok, I have i1 and I guess it is just for the monitor.  Maybe I don't have to profile the printer?  Just have icc for the paper?  not sure on all this.  I know I can get the paper icc form my distributor, they seem to be helpful.
Here is a question: the 9900 has a great paper cutter, if i want to make contact sheets and have 15 pictures across on 44" wide, is it an okay idea to make the page length 3.25" and then the Epson will cut the page? and is that how it works?

According to the Epson 9900 specification, the paper cutter only cuts the paper to length, it does not slice up the individual images, which is what you seem to be implying in your question. The paper cutter is relatively expensive to replace, at least in earlier models, and many folk that I know do not use it. The Epson user guide - page 34/35  gives more information. I expect there is also a minimum length strip of paper that it can cut. You can control it via the control panel, or the driver, or cut it manually. It will not cut all papers, and will struggle with cutting canvas. You will need to use an external cutter anyway, if you are printing a number of images across the page, and you wish to separate them.

That's good, go ahead and get the icc profile(s)
You will need to copy them to the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color
It also help to right click on each file and select "Install".
