Title: copying/editing metadata Post by: kieranmullen on September 17, 2009, 08:36:54 AM I would like to take/edit metadata from one image and apply to all images.
In my case I had my gps for a few sets of images and turned it off for the rest. I would also like to add my name etc to the images. If you could apply to a batch that would be nice. Thanks Title: Re: copying/editing metadata Post by: Terry-M on September 17, 2009, 12:53:52 PM Quote I would also like to add my name etc to the images I have my camera set up with my name. It can be seen using a "full" exif viewer like PhotoMe.You can use IPTC data to add your name and other stuff in Qimage with non-raw images, singly or in a batch. Terry. Can you please point me to the manual page where I can edit the info for one image and apply to all others? Thank you Title: Re: copying/editing metadata Post by: Terry-M on September 17, 2009, 03:34:34 PM Quote Here I go requesting features that have already been added. Happens all the time, no worries, we here to help :DQuote Can you please point me to the manual page where I can edit the info for one image and apply to all others? Easiest way: right click selected thumbs and select Edit IPTC data and click F1 (standard Windows feature) to get the appropriate help page. When multiple thumbs are selected, click Next after entering data in the IPTC edit and you will be asked if Apply to All etc. Just as an aside, it's a good idea to explore all the context menus, much is done that way 8) Terry. ANother thing to look at, depending on camera model, is the ability to store Owner and/or Comments information in the file as you shoot them. I store © 20xx in the Comments as I shoot. Title: Re: copying/editing metadata Post by: kieranmullen on September 17, 2009, 05:25:02 PM Meh.. I woul dhave to edit them anyway. As I mentioned in the original post (I think) GPS data is recorded in one image and I want to apply to all images, raw or jpg. Apprently cant do raw?

XMP files can hold IPTC data for RAW files. And, they can be batch edited. I think Terry addressed how to do a batch edit of Metadata in QI. (Nikon does a dangerous thing with NEF when you use NX. They can re-write data directly into the NEF. A bunch of software can no longer read the files after that. Personally, I am not a fan of NX.) |
