Title: Epson 7800 unrolls paper
Post by: mikesellers on January 20, 2011, 12:25:17 PM
A friend is using Qimage Lite on his Epson 7800 and he said when he turned on the printer it started feeding the roll of paper and even when he turned the printer off it continued to unroll. What would cause this and how would he fix it? Could it be a problem with Qimage?

Mike,
I would do a few things.
Check the spool in Windows to see if there is a hung up print job, and Click File, and Cancel all documents.
After that is cleared, I would unplug the printer from the wall for a minute, and then plug it back in.
Then I would go to HELP in Qimage and click RESET Printer.
Then I would reboot the computer.

Something will fix it.

Fred,
He is using the first version of Q so do you access Reset Printer Settings the way you described?

Mike,
To tell the truth, when I got my latest computer about 2 years ago, and loaded the programs, I ignored the LITE version in my addressing of what to put into the new box.
So I am trying to remember if the HELP had RESET printer.   I would guess yes, but I already have PRO, STUDIO and ULTIMATE on here, and downloading the LITE version is overkill.
I think I'd rather have Mike C verify.
Your friend should be able to report back to you.
