Hello,

Could anyone please give exact step by step instructions for setting up Qimage Studio and Epson R2000 printer?

I have been using Qimage for years with my Epson R800 with brilliant results. I had everything set up according to Mike's earlier ICM profile instructions. Now I bought the R2000, and the interface is much more confusing. Many of the options, especially regarding the ICM, are named differently, and I am afraid I fall into double profiling or make some other stupid mistakes.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Speedy,
I jusy downloaded and installed the R2000 driver and looked it over.
Specifically, in what area do you need help?

You mention Mike's ICM instruction. Is that in the context of you using Mike's Let Printer Manage color, or do you use the printer profiles that come with the printer?
Waiting for you.............
Fred

Fred,

Wow, that was fast!

I was referring to these instructions: http://ddisoftware.com/tech/articles/may-2005-using-icc-profiles-with-epson-printers/?action=printpage

These are very easy to follow. You set Color Management to ICM, and ICC/ICM Profile to OFF. Now, with the R2000 there are a lot more options, Driver ICM Basic, Advanced and Host ICM, and then Image Input Profile, Intent and Printer Profile.

This is where I need help. Do I make any sense?

(English is not my first language, so please, bear with me)

I think you are worrying too much!
Take a breath...
Select the correct paper type. Screen snap 087
Set the Mode to OFF, Print Quality set to Quality. screen snap 088
Page Layout tab: LEAVE IT ALONE!!!   VERY IMPORTANT!  snap 089
Screen snap 090 shows an alternate setting for QUALITY.
If you set to 6, you will get a higher dpi output, but it will take longer to print; and you may not see a difference anyway.
Experiment.

That's all there is to the driver.
Of course in Qimage, you know where the correct (matching the paper name) profile goes.
If not holler. I'll make more screen snaps.
Max of 4 to a post.
