Title: Long Panorama on Canon ipf8400
Post by: CurtisEssen on November 24, 2013, 10:09:41 PM
I am a newby here. I have spent the better part of the day trying to figure this out.

I want to print a 22.5"x223" panorama on PhotoTex wall paper on a Canon IPF 8400. I have the printer profile loaded and ready to go.

I was able to print this long on my Epson 9600 without too much trouble (it died and Epson no longer makes parts). I am having a hard time configuring the Canon Banner print mode and QImage to do a print this long. I am using a 24" wide roll of PhotoTex. Any ideas. The image in question is at the link below.

Google used to work for things like this but now all you get is advertising. The internet is starting to stink of money. I finally landed here. Help, I need help, lots of help!

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Hi Curtis,
I have a Canon IPF8300 driver here, it works on that, and your is a better model. So here we go.

I opened the Print Setup/ Printer driver, in Qimage.
Go to the Page Set up Tab.
Select 24 inch roll, (and I assume you set the correct type and color management of the paper,)
Click SIZE OPTIONS.... Type in right side area (see screen snap) 23.5 for the width and 224.0 for the length. Type in a name above.. (I used Pano)
Now scroll down the left side and select PANO...
Back to Roll Paper Options, Select Banner Mode (just to be safe)
Still on the Page Setup tab, in the upper right corner, where it says PAGE SIZE, you must select the name you used (PANO is what I used).

OK yourself out and back into the main Qimage screen and you will see above the preview panel, the printable area showing, 223.6 x 23.1
That should do it.

Hope this works for the 8400
Fred

Fred,
Thank you. It looks like that will work. Looks like I will have to go to work now and I will try this later when I get home .
